The Daybreaks

The Daybreaks participated in Southwest: Destination Red Rocks in 2017.

We have an amazing community of people in Nashville that we draw wisdom and inspiration from."

This Nashville-based band is a group of talented singer-songwriters formed to make perfect pop songs. The Daybreaks were founded in 2015 by Kaleb Jones, Heather Bond, and Bobby Holland, later adding Adam Bokesch and Zac Stred to intensify their sound. Their sound has been described as theatrical and haunting with layered vocals against complex sound schemes. The Daybreaks have been named “Nashville’s next super-group” by a local independent radio station and released their debut album, Find Me At The End of The World.

Edan Archer

Edan Archer participated in Southwest: Destination Red Rocks in 2017.

"I can be inspired by anything–it comes from inside."

Edan Archer’s sound combines smooth country soul with a rock edge that makes her music an alt country dream reminiscent of Margo Price’s work. She began her musical education at an early age and honed her skills at first at Berklee College of Music and then at the University of Florida. The individual tracks on Archer’s newest album, Cruel Mother, demonstrate her diverse range and ability to be soft and lyrical at times (as is the case with the song “Boomerang”), and rough at others (like in “Ain’t That Kind of Woman). Her lyrics are a clear nod to roots rock with and range from intimate ballads to catchy country rock numbers accompanied by layered harmonies and traditional alt country guitar styles.

Pony League

Pony League participated and rose to the top in Southwest: Destination Red Rocks in 2017.

"We are inspired by pop culture. We try to draw from real-life experiences."

Pony League is a group out of Atlanta, Georgia that is similar to Band of Horses with their animated, narrative lyrics and combination of country acoustic sounds with alt rock production techniques. The band consists of Jay "Chief" Howell, Gus Fernandez, Cyclone Charlie Mills, Mason Turner, and Justin Green, and cites Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and D. Justice among its top influences. The music itself is somewhere between alternative rock and country with songs that reflect their diverse range. For example, their song “Grace” from their album “A Fresh Start in the Same Old Town” has emotive, layered harmonies accompanied by slow, soulful music that is almost bluegrass; while “Somebody Like You” off the same album is upbeat and poppy with a fun, driving rhythm.
